Sun City Summerlin is a Del Webb Master planned community with 7781 homes and numerous amenities. The Director of Community Services oversees architectural review and violations in a department that includes three additional employees. Criteria is al least 2 years in the HOA industry and an active Nevada CAM Certificate-or equivalent work experience in the field of HOA Architectural Review and violation enforcement. Experience with Smartwebs or other HOA compliance software is a plus.

Position Description
Summary
Manage the Association’s Community Standards department through interpretation, and implementation of the governing documents, working with the Board and Committees and enforcing applicable laws to maintain and/or enhance the aesthetics of the community and promote harmonious living within the community. The Director of Community Standards performs one of the most important tasks in community management and must possess key elements in enforcing deed restrictions and compliance with governing documents of the Association.
Description of Duties
- Conduct periodic inspections of the Community to ensure compliance with governing documents
- Listens attentively to questions and comments. Communicates in a professional and composed demeanor under all circumstances
- Responds to phone calls and correspondence in a timely, professional manner
- Displays exceptional ability to analyze and deal with a variety of situations that otherwise could be potential problems
- Assist property owners in filing and resolving complaints and non-compliance issues
- Maintain database of complaints, non-compliance issues, status and resolutions
- Prepare compliance correspondence
- Follow through and document to ensure compliance is achieved
- Maintain knowledge of applicable local, state and federal laws, Association governing documents, policies and procedures
- Review and process all ARC applications
- Maintain database of ARC applications along with status of inspections and completions
- Prepare report for the Executive Director and Board of Directors and outside counsel regarding outstanding enforcement matters
- Prepare Hearing Notices and Hearing files
- Conduct Hearings when warranted
- Attend and participate in ARC, hearings, Managers meetings and other meetings as required
- Prepare weekly fines invoicing for Administration
- Supervise Community Standards Administrative Assistant
- Observes all safety standards and participates in SCSCAI’s efforts to provide safe work environment
- Additional duties relevant to this position and as assigned by the Executive Director

- Proficiency in computer/internet use and Microsoft Office Suite including MS Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe Acrobat, Paylocity and Jonas
- Must pass testing (in office, using our governing documents and NRS 116)
Ability to apply NRS 116 to use restrictions
Ability to review the governing documents to determine what the use restrictions are.

Ability to outline the appeals process
- Ability to give and follow written and verbal instructions
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Business or related field from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years Homeowners association compliance experience (Been active in Community Management for the last 5 years, 3 of which should be a large scale community)
- Been active in some form of Community Standards for at least 3 years of their community management career.
- Community Managers License required (CAM for the State of Nevada)
- Valid driver’s license to operate any company vehicle with minimum state required auto insurance on personal vehicle if used for work purposes
Physical demands and work environment
- Physical demands: Walking, sitting, bending and standing for prolonged periods. Lifting up to 25 lbs. Sufficient strength and stamina to ensure a productive environment within an office setting.
- Work environment: Risks and discomforts typical of an office and outside environment, including exposure to hot and cold temperatures, moderate noise levels and dirt, dust etc. Requires performing job functions in compliance with all SCSCAI policies including all safety policies and procedures.
